Cuba por Siempre -Los Grandes de la Música Cubana 🇨🇺

108 gems from the great masters of Cuban music

Close your eyes and let yourself be carried away to Havana. Cuba por Siempre -Los Grandes de la Música Cubana 🇨🇺 is a tribute to the island's musical soul: 108 songs and nearly 8 hours of son, bolero, danzón, and salsa that have won over the entire world. This classic Cuban music playlist brings together the great masters in a single collection, with all the flavor of their music. 🎺

Curated by Lalo Diener ✔︎ in collaboration with Ethiel Failde, director of the Orquesta Failde de Cuba, this selection has a beautiful mission: to be shared so that Cuban musicians can be heard around the world. With 104 saves, it's a treasure for lovers of the island's true music.

The legends of Buena Vista Social Club

The heart of this playlist are the great masters that the world rediscovered through Buena Vista Social Club. The eternal Omara Portuondo shines, the most featured voice throughout the entire collection, with gems like "Amor de mis amores" and "Veinte Años". Alongside her, the unmistakable Ibrahim Ferrer ("Dos Gardenias", "Quizás, quizás"), the masterful pianist Rubén González, and the immortal Compay Segundo with "Lágrimas negras" and "Guantanamera".

It's impossible not to surrender to eternal anthems like "Chan Chan", "El Cuarto de Tula", and "Candela", which are, on their own, the soundtrack of Cuba. Pure living history. 🎶

From son and bolero to salsa and timba

What makes this playlist monumental is its complete journey through the island's genres. The unforgettable Celia Cruz brings the sweetness with "La Vida Es Un Carnaval", "La Negra Tiene Tumbao", and "Quimbara", while the great Elena Burke delivers the most heartfelt bolero. Instrumental virtuosity is signed by Israel "Cachao" López (the father of mambo) and danzón masters like the Orquesta Failde itself, present with a good number of tracks.

And for those who love to dance, there's no shortage of timba and descarga with Los Van Van ("Temba, Tumba, Timba"), David Calzado y su Charanga Habanera, and Maraca, plus classics from the Fania All Stars alongside Celia. From the most traditional to the most danceable, all of Cuba in one playlist. 💃
