Latin Christmas for You: the playlist for December

December has its own soundtrack, and in Spanish, it sounds different from the way it sounds in English. Latin Christmas For You is the playlist I put together with exactly that in mind: the music we play when Christmas arrives in our countries, with influences from Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and across the region.

What This Playlist Is About

It's a selection of Christmas music in Spanish, blending classics we all recognize with more recent versions released by Latin artists over the past few years. It's not just traditional Christmas carols sung the same way they've always been: you'll find salsa, pop, some ballads, and also more upbeat rhythms that make you want to dance around the living room while decorating the tree or preparing dinner.

The idea was to create something that feels familiar from the very first track, while still offering a few surprises. If you've been listening to the same ten songs every December for years, you'll find different variations here, artists you may not have known making their own take on Christmas, and combinations you don't always hear together on the same playlist.

When to Listen

This playlist is designed for all those classic moments of the holiday season:

• Family dinners where the music needs to stay in the background without taking over the conversation, but still be interesting enough to keep things lively.
• Gatherings with friends where, at some point, someone is going to want to dance.
• Those afternoons spent decorating the house, putting up the tree, or wrapping gifts, when you want something upbeat to keep you company while you work.
• Car rides on the way to holiday gatherings, end-of-year parties, or simply while doing some Christmas shopping.

It also works if you're simply looking to get into the December spirit. Sometimes you don't need a special occasion: you just want your home to sound different, to feel a little more like Christmas, even if it's only through the music.

What You'll Find

The playlist intentionally mixes different genres. It's not just one sound repeated twenty times. You'll move from something quieter and more romantic to something with more energy, salsa, or even Christmas cumbia, depending on the time of day you listen to it. That variety is intentional: Christmas isn't experienced with just one mood. It moves between nostalgia, happiness, and the desire to dance, often all in the same night.

You'll find names that have become synonymous with Christmas across Latin America, those songs that have been playing in homes for years. But there's also room for newer ar
