Rap y Rock del Barrio 🔵

164 tracks of uncensored rap and alternative rock

This is pure barrio, pure flow and pure attitude. Rap y Rock del Barrio 🔵 is the Spanish-language rap and alternative rock playlist for open minds: 164 songs and nearly 8 and a half hours of Mexican hip-hop, urban rock and everything that sounds raw, honest and unfiltered. Heads up: this is explicit content (Parental Advisory), so it comes with all the barrio's truth front and center. 🎤

Curated by Lalo Diener ✔︎, the list blends the heavyweights of Mexican rap with cult alternative rock, in a single ride that'll have you spitting bars one minute and jumping in the mosh pit the next. For those who live music without filters.

The kings of Mexican rap and hip-hop

The absolute heart of the list is Sabino, present with a ton of tracks (“La Sed”, “Colibrí”, “Dime Tú”, “Me Puse Pedo” and many more): he's the backbone of this playlist's flow. Alongside him are the legends of Spanish-language rap: Control Machete (“Comprendes, Mendes?”, “Sí Señor”), Cartel De Santa (“Perros”, “El Ratón y el Queso”) and Alemán, plus his Bzrp Music Sessions.

The new generation of hip-hop also shines through: Charles Ans, MC Blay, La Banda Bastön, Simpson Ahuevo, Aox and Yo Fresh, alongside collaborations with Gorillaz & Trueno, Bizarrap & Nathy Peluso and Santa Fe Klan. The good stuff, from here and from everywhere. 🔥

The barrio's rock: from Molotov to Café Tacvba

What makes this list unique is its rock and alternative side. It wouldn't be complete without Molotov's anthems (“Frijolero”, “Voto Latino”), the madness of Plastilina Mosh (one of the most featured bands), or the guacarock of Botellita de Jerez. You'll also find classic Mexican rock with Café Tacvba (“Chilanga Banda”, “La ingrata”), Fobia, Cuca and Genitallica.

And to round it out, gems of Latin American alternative rock slip in, like El Cuarteto de Nos (“Ya No Sé Qué Hacer Conmigo”), Los Amigos Invisibles and the cumbia-rap of “Cumbia Sobre El Río” by Control Machete with Celso Piña. Rap and rock, side by side, just as it should be. 🤘
